FORUM on how the Fair Map Amendment will take unfair politics out of the redistricting process and put the power in the hands of the people. WORKSHOP on how to pass petitions to get the Fair Map Amendment on the November ballot.

Tuesday, March 9, 2010 9:30 -11am Thyme & Honey, 7525 West Madison, Forest Park 2nd Tuesday. Topic: Why does the census matter to you and me? If it does matter, how do we increase people responding? Are people aware that this is census week in Oak Park? Is the Fair Map a good idea? Realistic? What are the problems it addresses ? Are there other means of solving them? How have other states handled these problems?

Wednesday, March 24, 2010 11:30 am - 1 pm DePaul Club (11th floor), DePaul University Center, 1 E. Jackson, Chicago, IL LWVCC - Lunch and & Learn. Featured speaker Earl Dunlap, who was appointed by a federal judge in 2007 to oversee the Juvenile Temporary Detention Center as a result of lawsuits over conditions there. He will address what has been happening at the JTDC, and what he'd like to see happen at the JTDC in the future. Submit the reservation form to register. Questions?
